How it Works
In the week leading up to the Dundee Day (August 18 - 23) street festival, participants can explore the historic, wonderful community of Dundee through a mobile scavenger hunt. The game goes live online August 18th and concludes August 23rd with a celebration from 5:00 - 7:00pm.
A mobile scavenger hunt is an interactive game hosted online using social media. As a player, you will embark on a digital quest following clues and then taking selfies at designated spots. To track your game progress, post your photos on your social media feed and tag the location associated with the given clue. Have fun with this interactive game while you explore what makes Dundee unique. It is spread out over the course of a week so you can notice, play and engage at various locations.
As you go through the game, you will be given clues leading to a specific spot. Destinations have an icon list of social media platforms where they are active allowing you to choose which one you would like to post your photo. For a few destinations, you will need to go into a business. A list of their hours is provided. The remaining destinations are accessed outside and can be done at your convenience. For clues that are designated as “players choice,” have fun with this and post your photo findings on any/all social media of your choosing.
For players who would prefer to compete offline, pick up a paper copy at any of the participating Dundee Days businesses.
You are invited to celebrate successfully completing the game and receive a prize. Many wonderful Dundee merchants have generously donated gift cards, products, gift baskets and more. Please note players must be present to select a prize. Prizes will be available from 5:00 - 7:00pm or while they last.
